MCP Newsletter, January 16-19, 2018

January 19, 2018 - 3 Shevat 5778

Dear MCP Parents,

Despite the weather, we managed to have a fantastic week of learning and fun!

The True Blue Twos have been focusing on their color of the month--white! They connected their color with the snowy weather outside, and learned about pastels by mixing white with other colors. They also did an adorable mitten art project that you can see displayed on their board in our school hallway.

The Shining Stars continued to explore hibernation, learning about different animals that hibernate in the winter. They made rabbit and snake art projects to go with the animals they learned about. The children are excited to start learning about Tu B'Shevat next week!

Morah Carol has continued Tefillah each morning, and we have been celebrating all our new 3 year old boys who are putting on tzitzits for the first time. Check out this week's photos to see pictures!

Next week, Hebrew Through Movement will resume, with more complex-commands for our students to practice. Middot Yoga will also resume, with poses reflecting MCP’s Middah of the Month: Tikkun Olam.

Don’t forget to sign up for another fun semester of Sports & Karate with Coach Mike! Our second semester of Sports & Karate starts on Monday, January 22nd. See the flyer in our emailed newsletter/on our website for more details.

We are also excited to announce that MCP will be hosting our first-ever parents-only "Fun-raiser" Kids’ Art Auction this spring, featuring wine, sushi, music, and (most importantly) your children's art!

This fundraising event will take place on Sunday, March 18th from 5-9pm at OVS. See the save-the-date letter from our fantastic Morah Carol’s Parents’ Group committee below.

A special thanks to our amazing MCPG committee for all their hard work in organizing this fantastic event!

And last but not least, our MCP Summer Camp registration is now open to our registered MCP families! Our amazing MCP parents are receiving first-priority registration, before we open registration to the general public.

We are so excited about the fun, sunny days ahead of us!

Have a wonderful (and warm) weekend, and we look forward to seeing your precious children again next Monday!

Shabbat Shalom,

Morah Carol & Morah Adina
