Dear MCP Parents,
Happy Chanukah! We hope you’re enjoying this beautiful holiday--we certainly are at MCP!
The True Blue Twos have been practicing spinning dreidels (working on their fine motor skills!) and doing blue artwork--because blue is their color of the month!
The Shining Stars continued their Chanukah unit, reviewing the Chanukah story and learning about Chanukah traditions (including traditional Chanukah foods). The Shining Stars have also been helping to create beautiful Chanukah decorations for our Dreidels & Donuts Chanukah party this Sunday (December 17th) from 11-12:30. This week, they also learned about the Hebrew letter Gimmel.
In morning Tefillah with Morah Carol, our students continued learning about Chanukah. They discussed the miracle of the oil, and the bravery of the Maccabees. They’ve also continued practicing the special Chanukah brochot (blessings). They are getting really good at saying the Chanukah brochot! Has your child been helping you say the brocha when you light your chanukiah at home?
In Middot Yoga, our students heard the story Sammy Spider’s First Hanukkah by Sylvia A. Rouss, and learned a new yoga pose to go with the story: Spider Pose!
In Hebrew Through Movement, our students learned a new Hebrew command: לאט (l’aat/slowly). They practiced ללכת לאט (l’lechet l’aat/walk slowly), לשבת לאט (l’shevet l’aat/Sit slowly), and לקום לאט (l’koom l’aat/stand slowly). They also reviewed previous commands with lots of fun (and sometimes silly!) movement.
Don’t forget: Dreidels & Donuts, our first-ever family Chanukah party is happening this Sunday (December 17th) from 11-12:30! This event is for MCP families only. We are so excited to see you and your family there!
We’d like to extend a huge thank you to this year’s generous sponsors:
(Uncle) Nissan Amara, Julie & Tom Price, Stephanie & Samuel Heinselman, Tanya & Stan Shtramel. Thank you so much for your support!
If you would still like to become a sponsor, there are sponsorship spaces left! Please contact Morah Carol at 617-275-3021 or morahcarol@morahcarolsplace.com.
Parents, you should have received an email from us on Thursday, containing the link and instructions for viewing and ordering your child’s school photos online. If you did not receive the email, please contact Morah Adina at mcpadina@gmail.com and she will resend you the information.
Have a beautiful Shabbat and Chanukah, and we look forward to seeing your wonderful children on Sunday!
Shabbat Shalom!
Morah Carol & Morah Adina
